Our Yoga Classes
What to expect in our yoga classes
Miguel Silva, KU Retreat leader:
“I have started my contact with yoga in 1996 after having experienced a major shoulder injury.
At that time I was being very active in various sports and always searching for more and more adrenaline.
Yoga gave me another rhythm for my daily life. I learned to slow down, feel more and think less, raise my vibration and feel more grounded”.
A correct alignment with a synchronized breathing allows us to quiet the mind and experience the subtle yet strong circulation of prana (energy) through our nadis (channels/vessels) achieving deep relaxation state and increase our awareness. Yoga revitalizes us from inside out with harmony.
The practice of Hatha Yoga can help deal with the demands of modern lifestyle where the rhythms of our lives have accelerated immensely. We also experience the lack of quality time we have for ourselves and for our beloved ones. Yoga can act like a natural medicine to bring us to the present moment. It allows us to feel good and flexible both in our body and mind.
The key style of yoga at KU Retreats is Hatha yoga. We practice a wide range of asanas (postures) and pranayamas (breathing purification) for extended time to give you the full benefits of these two vital aspects of yoga.
“Exercises are like prose, whereas yoga is the poetry of
movements.” Amit Ray, Yoga and Vipassana: An Integrated Life Style
